An update on our recent XC/SS Club Social. More than 30 people attended. We had a brief and informative meeting.
At present we have 34 paid. The dues remain the same--$15 per person. If you are so inclined to add a small donation to your membership fees, that would be greatly appreciated.
We have a healthy balance in our treasury, but a large portion of that money is earmarked to pay on our debt to Voyager Village for our new groomer. The monies raised this past year from fund raisers and the donations given to us from Arts and Crafts are specifically for that debt.
Membership monies are used for annual expenses such as insurance, repairs and routine maintenance of the machines and the ski clinic held in January. Past years we have had between 60 and 70 paid members generating $900 to $1000. This covers annual expenses assuming we have no major breakdowns of the equipment. It has only happened once in the years past and with the new groomer, giving Big Betty (the old groomer) some relief, we do not foresee any problems this coming season. Big Betty was given a clean bill of health this month from a very reliable mechanic.
Now we need snow and more of you to join. Also spread the news to anyone you know who might enjoy groomed trails for both XC skiing and snowshoeing.
