May 30, 2021 @ 8:00 am - 6:00 pm

The First Annual Paddle, Pedal, Pant

Start training now; the Voyager Village first annual Paddle, Pedal, Pant triathlon is May 30th! Open to the public and not just Voyager members, this is a fun event designed to be not too difficult and for everyone in the family to participate in. Runners can register either as an individual or as a team to participate in each segment of the race. All participants must sign a waver at check-in before the race, and children under the age of 18 will need to have a parent’s signature and approval. A fee of $25 will be collected to fund T-shirts and awards. We strongly suggest having a person or persons as a crew team to handle your watercraft and bike once you complete those portions of the race. The race staff and Voyager Village cannot be responsible for unattended items.

The 1.5 mile paddling section will take place in the beautiful Birch Island Lake. The race will begin at 8am, starting and ending on the beach by the Lodge. Racers will launch at the beach and head towards the main island. A sign post on the north side of the island, marked with balloons, will have a bell on it to ring; once there, ring the bell and head back to the beach where the race started. Leave the watercraft at the beach and proceed to the front parking lot of the Lodge. Try to provide your own watercraft and paddle; we may be able to rent one but we have limited supply. Please arrange this before the start of the race. Each person must have their own personal life jacket. The 7.6 mile bike ride will go through Voyager Village and begin in the parking lot at the Lodge on Kilkare Rd. Head in a southern direction on Kilkare to right on Shore Rd, to right onto Chalet Rd for a short distance and then a left onto Three Mile Rd. Follow it to a right onto Loon Creek Trail, to a right onto Voyager Rd, to a left on Treasure Island Rd, and then to a right onto Treasure Island Court to finish the biking section on the East Cadotte Beach parking lot. Try to provide your own bike; we may be able to rent one but we have limited supply. Please arrange this before the start of the race. Each person must have and wear their own helmet. Electric assist bikes are not allowed. The bike segment is not a close course to traffic. The 5k run back to the clubhouse will begin on the beautiful and scenic Betty Trail. Follow the trail to the Woodford/Swanson golf cart trail across Treasure Island Rd. Follow that trail to the golf course and cross the 16th hole to Meadow Green Rd. Follow the road and take a left on Meadow Green Trailway by the clubhouse. The course will follow Meadow Green Trailway for the final end of the triathlon down the turnaround loop and then back the same way that you came. The finish line will be at the Voyager tennis court.
